Just because I'm nice, I'm gonna share with you a way how you can win some Hudson Taylor goodies ;)  To read a more detailed catch-up on Hudson Taylor news in Czech PRO PONĚKUD PODROBNĚJŠÍ ČLÁNEK V ČEŠTINĚ O NOVINKÁCH OD HUDSON TAYLOR >> click here << The competition is related to their latest music video of the song "Weapons" , which will be Hudson Taylor's first "proper" single. It will be released on 16th March. You can preorder it on iTunes. Video was directed by Lucy Tcherniak and shot in a former prison (Crumlin Road Gaol in Belfast), starring Liam McMahon. If you wish to read more about what the song means, or can mean... How it came to life, etc., I recommend clicking here and you will be taken to a transcript of what the lads said about the whole thing :) Now, here's that gem of a video. I myself like it very much (surprise, surprise). It is very powerful and gripping... in an Irish sort of way... and it defini

Ice-skating and a Happy Head #MareeDoesThings

This last weekend and couple of days before that, were such perfect and amazing days that I have to share with you what I've been up to. Also,  the "Life" category seems to be winning in my content poll so far, so there you have it, I'm giving you Life. Don't miss your chance to vote though!  It all began with ice skating. Well, to be precise, it all began with the Winter Olympics.  A couple fo my friends were planning on going skating to the Olympic Park that we have here in Prague. Wonderful thing this is, btw: it's a place where for the time of the Olympics you can come and try different winter sports like skating, ice hockey, curling, cross country skiing, even biathlon and a mini version of ski jump (if you're suicidal) and there's a little snowboarding slope as well. There are also big screens for crowds to gather and watch the broadcasts from Sochi and a studio of Czech Television. All through the day there are concerts, exhibitions na

Everly Brotherly Love

This is about a bit a of a music epiphany that I went through. You've probably noticed in the news, that one of the Everly brothers, Phil, passed away a couple of weeks back, on 3rd January 2014... I noticed as well. When I was little, and then again in my teens, my older brothers used to listen to radio stations that played "oldies" kind of music, and I used to hear that name on the radio. I knew that the "Everly Brothers" were a band from the 60's, but if you asked me a couple of weeks ago, I wouldn't be able to name a single song by them. Phil and Don Everly performing, 1964. Image source Then for some reason, I thought I should look into them a little bit and typed the name into YouTube searchbox. Subsequently I had my mind blown. It turned out... that I had already known a lot of their songs, I had known them and loved them, only I didn't realize it was the Everly Brothers singing! There was more then 10 songs that I knew so

Music Monthly: January 2014

My dear music readers, if you are still here, I'm not going to lie: I don't know what's happening. I've had some sort of a blogger's block on the January music compilation, which is slightly impractical, given that it was supposed to start off the new series for 2014. Ah well, what can you do. I will try to keep this as short and concise as possible. And you, please try to forgive me and overlook this slip up. On with the show, then! No more delays! * Don't forget to vote in my little poll over in the right bar, where you can have your say on what kind of content you like to see on here!   So far the results are turning out quite interestingly :) * I started the year in a bit of a Gabrielle Aplin mood :) (Already on the wave of my upcoming post, hopefully.) I have been loving this song since December and still haven't got bored of it. I doubt that I ever will :) "Salvation" is the latest single from Gabby's current debut album a

January Jubilations :)

Hello there people :) Before you get your monthly dose of music, I just want to post a quick little something about my super awesome January. To keep it short, this is what I've been up to: I read books. I bought dresses. And a denim jacket. And some sparkly eye-shadow. I was pretty :) I celebrated a big important birthday. This is what my birthday day looked like. Oh yes, I got a new camera, so I can take even nicer pictures for my blog now :) in other news:  I ruled the dancefloor! I made things. I applied for jobs. And then I bought me a CD (and a calendar) as a reward :)   As for that CD, Gabrielle Aplin's English Rain , I think it's safe to say that you may soon expect a special post dedicated to the album :)  January has been one of the splurgiest months for me in a long while, but I figured I am allowed to treat myself a little, since it was my birthday. Also I had some gift cards that I got for Christmas, so they came into
